What is Iowa Automotive Recyclers (IAR)?
Iowa Automotive Recyclers is a trade association of businesses involved in auto recycling, which is the recovery and resale of automotive OEM parts, components and systems reclaimed from damaged, totaled or low value vehicles. Customers include collision repair shops, mechanical repair shops, auto dealerships and individual retail customers. IAR members sell Green Recycled Parts.

Iowa Automotive Recyclers are selling Green Recycled Parts as part of global environmental stewardship. IAR members are Iowa Certified Automotive Recyclers Environmental or I-CARE program certified yards that maintain a strict standard of excellence in environmental and safety standards. What Does IAR Do?
Since 1958, the Iowa Automotive Recyclers association enables members to get involved and accomplish collectively what none of us could do individually. Its strength lies in attracting the greatest number of individuals and firms into membership, thereby creating a pool of resources from which to draw ideas, energies, and finances.
RECENT SUCCESS
The Iowa NMVTIS and Affidavit Law was signed in April 2015 for January 1, 2016 start date.
The new law will allow licensed Auto Recyclers in Iowa to purchase vehicles without titles by using an affidavit of ownership signed by the seller. The licensed Auto Recycler will have to conduct an NMVTIS search and an online lien check to verify the vehicle is not stolen nor held as security interest by another party.
